With just over a week until National Signing Day, The Ohio State Buckeyes have overtaken the Georgia Bulldogs for the number one spot in the 2018 football recruiting class (247 sports.)
The Buckeyes leapfrogged Georgia with the recent commit of four-star-recruit Chris Olave, a wide receiver from San Marcos, CA. The Buckeyes have a total of 24 recruits in the 2018 class, and they have a total composite score of 311.23, compared to Georgia’s 309.02.
With National Signing Day creeping up on us (Feb. 7), the Buckeyes still have plenty of top tier talent on their radar, including four-star-recruit OT Rasheed Walker from Maryland.
With the only returning offensive tackle being experienced senior Isaiah Prince, expect the Buckeyes to be very active from now until signing day to grab some talented offensive lineman. They need help in paving the way for the dynamic running back duo of J.K Dobbins and Mike Weber.
Other big time recruits that are in play for the Buckeyes include four-star-recruit Christopher Oats, a linebacker from Cincinnati. They will also chase two five-star defensive backs from American Heritage (Plantation, Fl.), Tyson Campbell and Patrick Surtain.
The reigning Cotton Bowl champions will need to replace a lot of key players to make the Playoff in 2018. They are losing their quarterback in J.T. Barrett, the leader of the offensive line, center Billy Price, and stud defensive back Denzel Ward.
