It appears that the Houston Texans have finally found their quarterback. Deshaun Watson went off Sunday in a 57-14 blowout win over their division rival, the Tennessee Titans. Watson became the first rookie to throw four touchdowns and run for another one since Fran Tarkenton in 1961. The Texans desperately needed this performance from their rookie QB as they look to solidify themselves in the AFC.
NFC Player of the Week:
Stats: 22/29, 316 Yards (Passing), 3 touchdowns (Passing), 1 Interception, 87.3 QBR, 44 Yards (Rushing), 1 Touchdown (Rushing)
Cam Newton’s performance Sunday sure looked like 2015-16 MVP Cam Newton. Newton ripped the Patriots Defense apart, who was rated the worst defense in the NFL going into Sunday. Newton’s only mistake of the day was throwing a ball into double-coverage, leading to an interception by Patriot’s CB Malcolm Butler. Newton lead the Panthers into Foxborough and got the win, improving their record to 3-1.
