Donovan Mitchell streaks down the court after making a spectacular steal. Everyone in the arena knows what’s coming. All of a sudden, Mitchell is throwing down a monstrous dunk. Mitchell has been a sweet surprise for Utah fans. Mitchell is a front runner for Rookie of the Year and is a dunk contest hopeful. Mitchell has been the best guard in a loaded class of names like Fultz, Ball and Fox. Mitchell is leading all rookies in points per game to this point in the season at 19.3, almost three points above the next player who is Ben Simmons.
Mitchell’s electrifying dunks have all fans shell shocked. His quickness in the passing lanes and explosive bounce make him the steal of the draft so far. He has clearly outperformed Malik Monk and Luke Kennard, two guards who were drafted directly ahead of him. Although Mitchell’s shooting is a little sketchy, he has had his explosive play ability since his time at Louisville. His good play down the stretch was a big reason he shot up draft boards. Whether you’re a fan of Mitchell’s game or not, you have to agree that his leaping ability is a sight to behold.
